Soybeans

Sure, it may be trendy to replace other oils with soybean oils, but it's becoming increasingly impossible for people allergic to soy to buy any food at all.

(But it's not a fashionable allergy, like peanuts! You can't be allergic to soy -- we're replacing all peanut oil with soybean oil because of allergies! Yes, yes, I know, I've heard it all. Including a PeTA member claiming that no one is allergic to soy, that only anti-vegetarian activists would claim something so dishonest.)

Gainfully Employed

I rejoice to announce that I am now gainfully employed.

I still have nothing of interest to say, though, except to note that there was a large pile of snow in the street by St. Thomas University this afternoon.

And to say that I would like one of those very long history of the world timeline posters for Christmas.  Or perhaps one of those ones with pictures of Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin -- above the title, "The History of Shaving."

Ok, granted, on Sept. 11 itself, there wasn't much of it going around, but by the next day educated temporary Bostonians were printing articles -- which I still have, for posterity and all that -- saying how heartbroken they were that we had brought it upon ourselves and deserved that and more.  And he thinks making the US into Israel will make them oppose the US's enemies?  (Because, you know, they all oppose Israel's enemies, right?) 

Meh.  Now back to your regularly scheduled pessimism, doom and gloom, severe headcold, and lack of anything to say.
